To ensure our system addresses the real-world constraints of farmers, the AgriSentinel Research Team visited the Mukwekwe Homestead Apiculture Field Day on July 16, 2026. During the event, we conducted structured interviews and surveys with 20 local farm owners and staff.
The Habituation Challenge
The feedback highlights a severe crop security crisis: 90% of respondents reported changes in wildlife pressure, with baboons, monkeys, birds, and human theft causing major yield losses (often exceeding 25% to 50% per season). Farmers rated traditional methods (scarecrows, tin banging, hired guards) at a poor mean score of 2.75 out of 5, citing animal habituation as the primary failure mode. This feedback directly validated our offline-first Bluetooth design.
